During the 2020 pandemic lockdown, when daily life was confined to home, I discovered a profound passion for cooking. My journey began with mutton curry, a cherished recipe passed down by my late mother, which became both a foundation and a way to honor her memory. Later, my sister encouraged me further, nurturing my interest in the kitchen until her passing on 28 July 2025.
My wife has also played a pivotal role in this journey, teaching me how to prepare spaghetti Bolognese, carbonara, and aglio e olio. With limited opportunities to go out during the lockdown, I turned to online resources to explore new cuisines and techniques. What started as a necessity soon grew into a creative pursuit. Over time, I expanded my repertoire, experimenting with diverse dishes from around the world.
Cooking has since become more than a hobby—it is a meaningful way to connect with family traditions, honor loved ones, embrace new learning, and share joy through food.

Spaghetti quickly became a cherished weekend tradition in our home. It started with my little boy’s love for the dish—his excitement and joy whenever it was served made it an easy choice for family meals. Over time, his enthusiasm turned spaghetti into our go-to comfort food, a dish that brought warmth and togetherness to the table. Inspired by his delight, I began preparing it almost every weekend, turning a simple recipe into a meaningful ritual. What began as his favorite meal grew into a family tradition, symbolizing love, care, and the joy of sharing food together.

Carbonara soon became my elder son’s favorite dish, and with his growing fondness, it naturally turned into a regular feature on our dining table. I prepared it so often that the process became second nature—quick, effortless, and deeply rewarding. What began as a simple meal choice evolved into a family staple, reflecting both his preference and the joy of creating something loved. Over time, carbonara became more than just a recipe; it was a symbol of comfort, consistency, and the ease of cooking with love for those who appreciate it most.

Aglio e olio holds a special place in our family as it is my wife’s favorite dish. Its simplicity, balanced flavors, and comforting nature make it a meal she truly enjoys. Over time, it became a regular part of our dining routine, prepared with care and consistency to honor her preference. What began as a personal favorite evolved into a family tradition, symbolizing both her taste and the joy of cooking something meaningful. For me, preparing aglio e olio is more than just a recipe—it is a way of celebrating her love for food and the warmth it brings to our home.
